Goals

To acquire the basics of chemistry allowing the modeling of the reactions used in the production of energy.

Programme

  1. General chemistry and basics of stoichiometry, reaction advancement, basics of kinetics chemical (Arrhenius law), introduction to heterogeneous catalysis.
  2. Thermochemistry, enthalpies of reactions, notions of calorific powers.
  3. Combustion, flames, concept of richness, nature of reaction products and pollution: NOx, SOx, H2S,...
  4. Electrochemistry, electrode potentials, electrochemical kinetics, application to fuel cells and batteries.
