Team work about the establishment of a wind farm on an island, using classical engineering concepts (fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, acoustics, chemistry, mathematics). 24 teams compete. The best 3 will be rewarded.
Modeling the probability of wind distribution on an island and the efficiency of a wind turbine as a function of wind speed. Implementation of a wind farm based on weather data and wind turbine characteristics. Management of a series of disturbances of different natures (chemical, aerodynamic, automatic, mechanical, acoustic, environmental) in order to best preserve the electrical production of the wind farm. Work carried out in groups of 5 to 6 students.
The activity focuses on environmentally sustainable development and social responsibility.
One-week intensive work on a renewable energy production problem.
