Electrical Power Network

Networks play a central role in the power system (large interconnection networks, industrial site networks, conurbation networks). The continuity and quality of supply depend on the reliability of its components and the performance of network management. This module is structured around 3 themes:

• High Voltage technology;
• Synchronous alternators for power generation;
• Transport network simulation - optimization.

• High-voltage technology: The transmission of high power inevitably involves the use of high voltages, which requires mastery of a specific technology.
• Alternator: Electricity production is essentially based on electromechanical conversion, often performed by alternators. This course provides a basic understanding of how to control these systems.
• Distributed generation: We are witnessing an increase in decentralized generation (cogeneration, wind power, solar power), introducing additional constraints on networks. Distributed power generation techniques and their constraints will be presented in this course.
