Goals

Principles of X-ray imaging (production of X-rays, main detectors, image formation). Medical applications of X-ray imaging and CT scanning.

Programme

Interest of contrast products. Principles of positron emission tomography (PET) imaging: physical basis of PET imaging: signal acquisition and storage, intrinsic and technological limitations, data correction (attenuation, diffusion, etc.), reconstruction. Examples of applications Current technologies and orientations. Analysis of static and dynamic PET images: methods (static: choice of physical and psychophysical metrics, dynamic: basis and applications of compartmental modeling) and tools (experimentation, simulation). Practical work is carried out on the Labex PRIMES platform. Ionizing imaging on experimental equipment. PRACTICAL WORK X-ray simulation and PET simulation
