Goals

The aim of this course is to acquire knowledge of current formulation issues linked to the specific characteristics of active ingredients and to changes in therapeutic objectives. The problems of dissolution, solubilization and stability of active ingredients are essential. The role of excipients, and surfactants in particular, will be highlighted. The main innovations in formulation, making it possible to improve the efficacy of products, to overcome the constraints of stability or fragility of certain active ingredients, while conveying them to the target to be treated, will be presented. Emphasis will be placed on the search for new forms adapted to active ingredients, and on the analysis of results.

Programme

Theoretical teaching is therefore structured around seven lectures:

  • Active substance-matrix interactions and kinetics control.
  • Microemulsions, Pickering emulsions.
  • Innovation in pediatric formulation.
  • Orodispersible forms, films.
  • Encapsulation systems.
  • Nanoparticles, liposomes.
  • Vectorization of active substances.

Classes are supplemented by practical sessions based on published case studies.
