This course deals with the performance evaluation of production systems (production workshops, transport networks, product inventories, supply chains, etc.). The main objective is to acquire the methodological skills needed to design, optimize, simulate and analyze the performance of a production system. The course covers two main optimization and performance evaluation tools for modeling production systems: stochastic methods (Markov chains, queuing networks, etc.) and tools from operations research (mathematical programming, graph theory, etc.), and discrete-event system simulation/flow simulation tools.
▪ Introduction to production management (planning, scheduling) ▪ Performance evaluation ▪ Operations research for production - modeling & solving: linear programming, PLNE, graph theory, heuristics and metaheuristics ▪ Scheduling ▪ Simulation: physical loop - modeling - simulation - evaluation ▪ Combination simulation & optimization
