Goals

The main objective of the Master's course is to confront the student with a concrete scientific problem, using the methodology acquired during the first semester. The trainee will have to formulate a clear and relevant problem, then develop and implement a rigorous scientific approach to answer it. In this context, particular attention will be paid to several essential aspects:

  • Contextualising the problem: situating the subject in its scientific and technological environment, identifying the associated issues and challenges.
  • Presentation of the state of the art: carrying out a critical review of the existing literature in order to identify current knowledge and the gaps that need to be filled.
  • The scientific approach adopted: provide a structured description of the hypotheses formulated, the experimental or analytical methods used, and the justification for the methodological choices made.
  • Critical analysis of the results: interpret the results obtained objectively, assessing their limitations and suggesting areas for improvement or further research.

The aim of the placement is therefore to develop the ability to tackle and resolve complex scientific problems, while ensuring methodological rigour and critical reflection on the entire process.
