Goals

The aim of this module is to make it possible to design thin deformable structures as beams, according to stresses and displacements criterion, starting from the internal forces induced by the loading and the reactions to the connections.

Programme

Introduction: strength of a materials positioning Chapter 1: Beam theory: definitions, assumptions Chapter 2: External forces, cohesive forces Chapters 3 to 6: stress-strain behaviour for tension-compression, shear, bending, torsion and compound loadings Chapter 7: Energy methods Chapter 8: Supplements of strength of a materials
