Goals

This Teaching Unit addresses the issue of biocompatibility from the point of view of assessment.

Programme

Theoretical teaching is therefore structured around the following themes:

  • Introduction to biocompatibility and tissue regeneration.
  • In vitro evaluation: physico-chemical characterization, surface analysis, cytocompatibility, hemocompatibility.
  • Preclinical evaluation: conduct of experiments, imaging and histology.
  • Clinical evaluation: conduct of clinical trials.
  • Literature review The course is supplemented by a tutorial session to put students in a position to analyze research and development (R&D) work in the field of biocompatibility
