Goals

Understand the interest and role of power electronics; Theoritical knowledge : power converters topologies, active and passive devices technologies, control techniques Practical knowledge : electrical and thermal sizing of power converters + printed circuit board design Basic knowledges in EMC

Programme

DC/DC conversion : main topologies, study of an isolated SMPS (Flyback) for LED driving application + sizing of the transformer. Experimental validation of theoritical aspects (PCB design, electrical waveforms study, closed-loop control) DC/AC conversion : control techniques of the single phase inverter (full wave, PWM...), active devices and drivers, thermal sizing... Introduction to EMC in power electronics
