Nanoscience and nanotechnology are concerned with understanding the specific properties of structures on the nanometric scale, as well as the development and characterisation of these nanostructures. Nanotechnologies enable us to push back the limits of miniaturisation and generate new applications and new functionalities in microelectronics, photonics, materials science and biology, with applications in medicine, energy and environmental issues. 1 Course on nanoscience and nanotechnology, with numerous examples. 2 Practical work on the development of nanoparticles and their characterisation by atomic force microscopy. 3 Video design project.
A substantial part of the activities is dedicated to environmentally sustainable development and social responsibility.
In the various courses, nanosystems with properties to reduce energy costs and the environmental footprint (NWFET, etc.), nanosystems for nanomedicine (DNA chip, lab-on-a-chip, etc.), nanobiotechnologies, projects on the contribution of nanotechnologies to energy, the environment or health, nanoparticles for oncology.
