The training program " Mechanics of solids, materials, and structures" encompasses fundamental knowledge in mechanical engineering and materials science. This program covers a wide range of knowledge and skills for the design, manufacturing, and performance analysis of mechanical systems.
Four parts define this course • Mechanical technology : address the design, sizing, and implementation of a mechanical system, as well as the study of its functioning. • Continuum mechanics : model the motion, deformations, and internal forces of a material system considered as continuous at the macroscopic scale. • Material Engineering : introduce the students to Materials Science by enabling them to address problems at various scales, considering the material's behavior and taking into account its entire lifecycle, from its production to recycling, including shaping, specific optimization treatments, and damage • Structural dynamics : to study modal synthesis: effects of truncation, structural modifications, and to extend dynamic models to situations involving structures subjected to large displacements and/or combined loading, in order to predict and control, during the design phase, the associated phenomena: risks of instability, flutter.
